If you’ve selected the option in the Lifestyle survey to have access to some of the live data we are collecting with our devices, below is some advice that might be useful. Access will not be granted without you first completing the survey. This is because granting access involves sharing your email address with Sensibo and this requires your consent.
1. Download the Sensibo app (Android link) (iPhone link) on your phone and create a free account.
2. Wait until you receive an email from Sensibo inviting you to join – this will not come from CSIRO, and when the link is sent it will only be valid for 7 days.

3. Open the email from Sensibo on your phone, and accept the invitation. This will open the Sensibo app. If you are prompted to ‘add devices’ you need to refresh the app. Continue to refresh until the devices have synced with the app.
4. You should see 2 devices listed on the Sensibo dashboard on your phone. If there is only one device, it means we were only able to install one. This might be because a) you live in a studio apartment without a separate bedroom or b) your bedroom window has flyscreen which prevented us installing a window sensor. The devices will be called ‘Living XXX’ and Bed XXX’ where XXX is a unique number. Please do not rename the devices.

On the dashboard your device will look like either of the two options. Where we’ve been able to pair the device to the remote control for your air conditioning, you will see the room temperature. Where we have not been able to pair the remote control for the air conditioning (as your apartment has ducted cooling with a wall mounted thermostat) you will see a triangle with an exclamation mark and the instruction ‘Set up remote’ disregard this.
In the event your devices are showing as disconnected please switch the AirPro power on/off for 5 seconds at the wall socket, and the router power on/off at the wall socket. This will force a restart, that should put your device back online. If that does not work then please send an email to pippa.soccio@csiro.au.

5. Click into the room that you want to see the data for. The below example is a living room. The features are annotated.

By clicking on the ‘Graphs & Logos’ option you can see the thermal comfort and air quality data in your apartment. Every apartment will be monitored for two air quality parameters which are TVOC (which is off gassing of chemicals typically associated with cooking, new furniture, carpet, paint, cleaning products and adhesives) and Carbon Dioxide which is often used as an indicator of ventilation. The three performance thresholds (“good, moderate and poor”) and not backed by CSIRO science, by can be used as a rough guide – noting that with thermal comfort there is a wide range of temperatures that people will find comfortable based on a range of factors including gender, age, activity, clothing type etc so please do not alter your behaviour solely based on these indicators.

You can also look at the status of the windows and balcony door (whether open or closed). Please note that the temperature shown alongside the window/door status is not indicative of conditions in the room. If an aluminium frame, it is likely measuring the temperature of the window or door surface itself, which can be much hotter or colder than the indoor air temperature—especially in direct sun or cold weather. Please refer to the separate room temperature sensor for an accurate reading of indoor conditions.
